Lane Closures (May 8 – June 3) in Edwards Colorado

Community & Construction Update – 3/18/2026

Dear Residents and Neighbors,

Welcome to spring. As you may have noticed, West End is beginning to take shape. Our team has continued construction activities, including pouring the project’s first foundations, and over the coming months you will begin to see the project being to take shape.

As part of our ongoing improvements to Highway 6—including a new CORE Transit bus shelter and related infrastructure—our general contractor, Haselden, will be implementing safety measures that include temporary lane closures in the area. We aim to keep you informed in advance so that you may plan accordingly for any delays that may impact your busy lives.

Please note the following lane closure schedule:

Lane Closures (May 8 – June 3):

The western southbound lane of Edwards Access Road (from I-70), north of the Edwards Roundabout
The northern westbound lane of Highway 6 (toward Lake Creek), west of the Edwards Roundabout

Traffic Adjustments (May 8 – June 3):

The northern westbound lane of Highway 6 (from Avon), east of the roundabout, will be right-turn only (northbound to I-70)
The eastern northbound lane of Edwards Access Road (from Homestead), south of the roundabout, will be right-turn or through only (northbound to I-70)

What We Ask of the Community:

Please follow posted signage and use both lanes up to the merge point to help reduce congestion
Use extra caution when approaching and navigating the roundabout during this time

Pedestrian & Transit Impacts:

Pedestrian crossings at the Edwards Roundabout will remain open, however, the sidewalk west of the Gas House restaurant will be closed
CORE Transit Stop #271 will be temporarily closed through June 3

Community & Construction Update – 10/24/2025

First and foremost, thank you to the community for bearing with us as we have been preparing this website for launch. It is fair to say that this update is overdue and you can expect updates, as they come available, to be posted on this website going forward.

We are excited to be underway at West End and have kicked off our earthwork activities over the last couple of months. In addition to the earthwork, we have been working through offsite utilities and our improvements to Highway 6. The work being done along Highway 6 is the extension of a water line and facilitates an improved transit stop and shelter for CORE Transit riders while making way for the Loop Road which will connect Edwards Access Road to Highway 6.

For the foreseeable future, or until snow starts to fall, the traffic controls that are in-place, as dictated and approved by CDOT, will need to remain to protect both the construction team and the community driving through the area. These traffic controls include a closure of the righthand, southbound lane of the Edwards Access Road approaching the Edwards Roundabout and a closure of the righthand, westbound lane of Highway 6 coming out of the Edwards roundabout. Due to safety concerns it is necessary for these traffic controls to stay in place until the work has been completed. Delays can be expected on Edwards Access Road during peak travel hours. Please be sure to utilize both lanes of Edwards Access Road up to the merge point to prevent traffic congestion further North than it needs to be.

We understand that this is inconvenient and adds to the community’s commute times. You can rest assured that we are working as expeditiously as possible to complete the improvements in a safe, yet efficient manner, and hope to be out of the right-of-way in the coming weeks.

Please remember to slow down, be patient, stay alert, and drive distraction free while traveling through the construction zone. We appreciate your understanding as we complete these necessary improvements.
